It's time to get talking

Long-acting reversible contraceptives (LARC), permanent contraceptives, contraceptive pills...the list goes on. Are you confused yet? Making the right contraceptive choice can be confusing, which is why talking about your options is important.

Time to get talking

So who do you talk to about contraception? And what exactly do you want from your contraceptive?

Your doctor or nurse: talking through your options with a healthcare professional, means they can answer any questions or queries you may have, helping you to make the best choice to suit your needs.

Your parents: They have been through it before, so if you feel you can chat openly about contraception with your parents, why not get their opinion?

Your partner: Your contraception choice affects both you and your partner, so make sure you both know what you want from it.

Talking to your children: If you think your children might be thinking about sex and contraception, why not offer to talk them through the different methods available?
